A CARE trust is once again taking to the road.

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust stages its board meetings, on alternate months, at different venues.

The aim is to give users of its services – from across Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale, Craven and Wakefield – the chance to see board members in action and learn more about the organisation’s work.

There is also ‘testimony’ from a patient or carer about their experiences of the trust.

At the latest meeting – which takes place next Thursday (Jan 30) in the training room at CNet, the Enterprise Hub, 114-116 Manningham Lane, Bradford, from 1.30pm to 4pm – a carer will outline the support available from the trust, including regular activities to improve wellbeing.

Support enabled the carer to help keep a family member with learning disabilities at home after a spell in hospital, rather than going into a nursing home.

A report will also be given on visits carried out last month by trust directors, to help them better understand how staff deal with winter pressures across community services.

The board visited the Somerset House community mental health team and four district nursing teams.

Paul Hogg, the care trust’s director of corporate affairs, said: “We are delighted to hold our ‘board on the road’ meeting at CNet and have the opportunity to meet with some of our partners from the voluntary and community sector.

“Our patient or carer stories provide the board with an important connection to those we service and how can support them across a broad range of services.”

The care trust provides mental health, community and learning disability services.
