MANORLANDS’ cycle events group has unveiled its programme for 2020 – following on from a record year of fundraising.

Last year, the group’s activities coined-in over £31,000 for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

The events were supported by All Terrain Cycles, which provided a prize for a free draw that every entrant raising more than £50 in sponsorship was entered into. Winner Archie Gill, 11, has been presented with a £100 voucher.

The retailer is once again giving its backing this year.

Events lined-up are the Three Dales Mountain Bike Challenge on July 5, the Bronte Sportive on July 19 and the Bronte Mountain Bike Challenge on September 20. All offer a choice of routes catering for varying abilities.

Manorlands cycle events group is also continuing its partnership with the Queensbury Queens of the Mountain, for the Bronte Sportive. And it will again be the chosen charity of Le Petit Depart and the Skipton Triathlon.

Andrew Wood, community fundraising manager at Manorlands, said: “Every year our cycle events go from strength to strength – around 350 cyclists took part in the Bronte Sportive alone last year.

“It’s fantastic that, thanks to the loyalty of the cycling fraternity and generous sponsors like All Terrain, we were able to raise such a staggering amount last year. With continued support, we hope that 2020 will be better than ever.”

Tony Booth, managing director of All Terrain Cycles, said the business was proud to once again give its support.

He added: “Not only do these events take place on some of Yorkshire’s most beautiful and challenging cycling terrain, but they also raise funds for a fantastic local hospice.”
