IS Keighley not missing an opportunity by failing to utilise the 'College Green' as I call it – the site of the old grammar school – especially at this time of year?
The area would make a brilliant venue for a Christmas market and perhaps small funfair.
The neighbouring Town Hall Square could also be the site of the town Christmas tree (as it used to be), where on Saturdays up to Christmas carols used to be played.
A market/craft fair/entertainment area could attract visitors to the town from a wide area who may also visit the other shops in Keighley.
'College Green' is close to public transport and there are numerous parking and refreshment areas around the site. Goodness knows, with many shops in Keighley closing, the town needs something to attract visitors.
