PEOPLE from across the district whose lives have been touched by the NHS are being invited to attend a carol service.

Members of the public are being encouraged to join NHS staff, their family and friends plus members of partner organisations at the event.

Employees of the three clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) in Bradford district and Craven, Airedale NHS Foundation Trust and the district care trust will be among those present.

The service – at Bradford Cathedral next Thursday (Dec 12) – will feature carols, music and readings.

Hospital chaplain the Rev Joe Fielder will speak and there will be performances from the Bradford Youth Brass Band, the signing choirs of Girlington and Swain House primary schools and the cathedral choir.

Doors will open at 6.30pm and the service starts at 7pm.

Admission is free.

A spokesman for the Bradford district and Craven CCGs, which are organising the event, said: “There’s nothing like a carol service for getting everyone in the festive mood and looking forward to Christmas.

“And in the closing weeks of the year, we will be giving thanks for the NHS and marking the dedication and service of those who work within it.

“There will be a warm welcome for anyone who would like to attend and a chance to catch-up with friends, old and new, when refreshments are served afterwards.”
