APRÈS SKI is the theme of a Winter Wonderland event launching a new venue in Stanbury this month. The 1791 Cotton Mill events space has been created at historic Ponden Mill by local company Bronte Bars & Events.

Bronte Bars director Kathryn Thornton said the Winter Wonderland on December 7, held with Tailors Gin of Leeds, would feature attractions including ‘GinGo bingo.

She said: “We will be firing up the glitter cannons and dishing out the glitter globe cocktails. Expect glitter, confetti, gin, dares, challenges and trivia as we unleash a night of sheer laughter.”

Kathryn worked with Ponden Mill owners Richard and Barbara Trainer to create the 1791 Cotton Mill, with suggested uses including weddings, meetings, conferences and teambuilding.

She said: “We wanted to breathe new life into Ponden Mill, which in turn will create local employment, local spend and great events for local people and visitors. We hope that the local community embraces this and will use the mill as it is such a versatile space.”

An open afternoon will be held at Ponden Mill on December 7 from noon until 4pm, for anyone who wants to look around the 1791 Cotton Mill, especially people who worked in the building when it was Ponden Mill Linens, and have stories to tell about its past.
