KEIGHLEY women are being invited to an event supporting the global campaign to end violence against women and girls. The free November 27 gathering at the Hainworth Wood Community Centre promises “information, art, food, positivity and good company”.
The E5 Keighley Women and Girls Empowerment Project is hosting the event from 9.30am to noon. E5 worker Jo Horrox has worked with women from across the town to plan the event, which will focus on surviving domestic violence, mental health and wellbeing.
She said: “The event is our first one in the area and we are hoping that women from the area will attend as well as women from across the town.
“We will hear from survivors of domestic violence and find out what services are available for support. We are also offering a hypnotherapy taster session. By working together we can make a difference.”
