A COMPANY is backing an initiative to create a garden area at a Keighley homeless project.

Computershare Loan Services has donated £1,000 towards the scheme, at Horton Housing’s STAY at Home (Keighley) service.

The aim is to transform a disused plot of land at the back of the Ingrow premises.

Features could include flowerbeds, a vegetable patch, pond and seating area.

Gemma Mason, STAY at Home manager in Keighley, said the service was delighted to receive the funds.

She added: “Our clients and staff are very excited about how we can use this money to create a beautiful garden for everyone to enjoy.”

STAY at Home provides accommodation and support to people who are homeless, or are at risk of homelessness, in the Keighley area. It works with clients who have multiple or complex needs.

Cathy Holmes, a team co-ordinator with Computershare Loan Services at Crossflatts, said: “Many of our employees have donated clothing and household items to Horton Housing for a number of years, so we are delighted to take a further step and help support a community garden through our charity fund. We look forward to seeing the garden mature and provide a welcome retreat for individuals and families affected by homelessness and other issues.”

Computershare Loan Services is the UK’s largest third-party administrator of mortgages.
