AN artist has demonstrated her skills to a village group.
Laura Dawes displayed her use of gouache painting to members of Oakworth Art Club.
Using just two brushes, Ilkley-based freelance artist Laura illustrated her various stages of preparation and planning and explained her approach to landscape painting.
Laura’s favoured traditional media are watercolour, gouache and ink, and she also paints digitally.
“Some of her exquisite sketchbooks were available for us to see,” said a club spokesman.
Oakworth Art Club meets on the first Thursday of every month at the village’s Christ Church, at 7.30pm.
Sessions are open to anyone, whatever their level of skill, with the opportunity to socialise while learning different art techniques.
There is no membership fee.
The 2019-20 programme is available online, by searching for Oakworth (Holden) Art Club on Facebook.
