TWO GROUPS of Parkside School students successfully completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge.

The year 11 groups headed out on their expeditions on July 6 and July 11 to climb Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside.

Derek Radcliffe, the Cullingworth school’s Student Support Year leader for year 11, said: “Accompanied by a great team of staff, both groups managed to complete this challenge in under 12 hours - a massive achievement!

“It was a pleasure to share this experience with all those who took part and to see how much effort, determination and resilience was shown in order to complete the walk.”

The students who took part in the July 6 walk have raised more than £1,000 in sponsorship for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
