ADVENTURE was in store for almost 50 students of Parkside School as they set off on their Duke of Edinburgh Award hikes.
The 46 year 10 students successfully completed the expedition section of the long-established award scheme.
Dr Hayley Evans, DofE coordinator at the Cullingworth school, said the youngsters completed both their practice and qualifying expeditions by walking around Lower Wharfedale and camping at Curly Hill campsite.
Dr Evans said: “Even though the weather was very hot and there were lots of hills to climb, the students stayed in good spirits throughout the expedition and made new friendships within their groups.
“Forty-three of these students had spent the year completing their skill, physical and volunteering sections and were presented with their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award certificates during the same week.”
