A NEW children’s activity book has been created to bring a Keighley museum to life.
Bradford Council’s neighbourhoods and customer services, along with Bradford Museums and Galleries staff, have produced the children’s guide and activity book.
Aimed at primary school children, the book contains a host of activities to help youngsters explore and enjoy the museum and its surrounding park.
Using the guide, children can enjoy making a model Pholiderpeton, the giant fossil amphibian housed in the museum’s Airedale Gallery, or learn to write the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic alphabet.
Local artist Ruth Wrightman has created a “magical” map of the museum site, illustrating what people can see within the newly-restored grounds.
The Children’s Guide and Activity Book will be on sale at the museum for £2. But thanks to funds raised by Cliffe Castle Support Group, park and museum staff have been visiting around 25 local schools with free copies.
