INGROW butcher Chris Herd has created special Yorkshire Day pies to sell at a celebration event on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.
He will be nearby Ingrow station – centre of the Yorkshire Day festivities on Thursday August 1 – with his traditional horse and cart.
The Bahamas Locomotive Society is working with the KWVR and Vintage Carriages Trust on activities including a Rail Story summer fair at the Ingrow yard.
There will be craft stalls, bric a brac, children’s entertainment and games.
Bahamas chairman Keith Whitmore said: “For the first time we will be participating in Yorkshire Day celebrations.
“A summer train service will operate and for ticket holders there will be a vintage bus service to Haworth and Oxenhope.
“Everyone is welcome to come to the fair. There is free entrance to Ingrow yard where some special surprises will be experienced.”
Although a Lancastrian by birth and a proud Mancunian, Keith has vowed he will wear a white rose the Yorkshire for the day.
