AIREDALE Opticians will raise money for charity with an open day offering canapés and summer punch on Wednesday July 31.

The opticians, based in Keighley town centre opposite the bus station, is inviting people to call with queries about their eyes or vision.

Airedale Opticians spokesman Mohammed Hafejee said: “When run in the past the open day has been hugely successful in patients being able to ask questions in a more relaxed environment about their eyes, and how to keep them healthy.

“A selection of themed drinks and snacks will be available for a donation to the Macular Society, a national charity who fund research into Macular Degeneration, the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK.

“They also provide local support groups for sufferers and campaign to raise awareness of the condition.”

Representatives from Silhouette and Maui Jim will showcase their entire catalogues of frames and lenses.

Mr Hafejee said: “Silhouette is an iconic Austrian spectacle brand with over fifty years of development. Maui Jim is a sunglass brand based out of Hawaii who have gained a cult following among sunglass enthusiasts for their top quality frames and the latest technology they use in their lenses.”

The event will run from 1pm to 4pm.
