A HOUSING group which manages 228 properties in Keighley has won a coveted award.

Manningham Housing Association (MHA) has been recognised for its investment in a new, digital system to ensure gas safety compliance.

The association – whose Keighley homes are spread across the town's Central, East and West wards – triumphed in the 'best digital transformation' category of the Northern Housing Awards.

MHA teamed-up with technology firm Gas Tag to upgrade the system.

Lee Bloomfield, MHA chief executive, said he was delighted that the work had been recognised.

"I'm thrilled for all involved but especially our tenants who have benefited from the upgrade," he added.

"Relatively small housing associations such as ourselves have limited resources but are rightly required to meet our compliance obligations in full.

"The award is a testament to the hard work and innovative approach we've taken to enhance our processes.

"Gas Tag has been key to raising quality and indeed exceeding the expectations of the regulator."

MHA chairman, Barrington Billings, said he was thrilled that the association was continuing to "blaze a trail".

"We exist to improve the lives of our tenants and their communities and this award is just the latest evidence that we are making good decisions on their behalf," he added.
