THE FRIENDS of Devonshire Park are thinking of Christmas as they organise their next free willow-weaving event.

Keighley people will be able to weave an Ethical Trophy Stag Head which is ideal for lighting up as a Christmas decoration.

The workshop will be held on Sunday September 29 from 11am to 4pm in the conservatory of Cliffe Castle Museum.

Friends spokesman Kate Toch said: “This is the last of the courses we can offer from the People’s Postcode Lottery funding.

“If you have enjoyed the willow-weaving, perhaps think about joining Friends of Devonshire Park and work with us to secure funding for projects in the future.”

As with previous workshops, the tutor will be Joe Gregory from Creative with Nature in Todmorden.

The workshop has 14 places, and booking opens on Monday July 8. Email devonshireparkkly@gmail.com to book a place after July 8.

The Friends of Devonshire Park work to preserve the park off Spring Gardens Lane and raise awareness of its attractions.

They have run a series of ‘tree walks’ with experts outlining the natural history of the park.
