THE HILLBILLY Honkytonk is returning to Glusburn for a second jamboree of down-home country music.

Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash tribute acts will take to the stage along with the Holborn Hillbillies and Jessica & The Ragged Company.

Glusburn woman Liz Nelson and her husband are organising the live-music event at Manor House Farm on Saturday August 17.

Liz said: “One field, one tent, four live bands and a DJ. We also have a bucking bronco, fodder, beer and camping!"

Liz said she had invited back Andrea Pattison, a headliner at the first Hillbilly Honkytonk in 2016, to perform her Dolly Parton act.

Liz said: “This is the closest you will get to seeing the lady herself. Not only has Andrea got the voice but she's got the humour, the wigs and the outfits!

“She is back for the second time to the honkytonk stage, as she was so popular last time. Wigs and rhinestones at the ready for this one!

“Hang on to ya hats and get ready for some banjo pickin ya'll, with the Holborn Hillbillies! Dig out your dungarees and leave your pitchforks behind the bar – these guys know how to have a good time.

“Local band Jessica and the Ragged Company are gonna rock ya'll like a wagon wheel… they’re sassy and classy, playing country, Americana and rock favourites. Don't miss this girl’s amazing voice.”

Also performing will be the hugely-popular Keep It Cash band, described by Liz as the number-one Johnny Cash soundalike that has been booked previous by Sony, the BBC and Coca-Cola.

Tickets cost £25 each from the Hare and Hounds pub in Lothersdale, Ripon Farm Services in Kildwick or Black Lane Ends Tavern in Colne.

Alternatively people can visit the Hillbilly Honkytonk’s Facebook page or call 07828 050501.

Under 18s are free, dogs welcome, and camping is available at extra cost. Gates will open at midday on August 17, and tickets cost £25 each.

Andrea Pattison is billed as the UK’s busiest, most popular and widely-seen Dolly Parton impersonator.

Since 2015 she has been starring as Dolly in the popular touring show Islands in the Stream with Peter White as Kenny Rogers, regularly performing in front of thousands of people..

Meanwhile her own theatre show, the Dolly Parton Story, features a live six-piece backing band playing accurate versions of Dolly’s most celebrated material.

Based in the Newcastle/North East area, Andrea is a lifelong fan of the country music Queen, and has spent many years researching Dolly's life and music, as well as perfecting the star’s vocal tone and phrasing, her onstage mannerisms and characterisation.
