EXPERIENCED and beginner artists have been invited to sample a series of sketching sessions due to take place in and around Keighley's Cliffe Castle Museum.

The "Sketching What We See" series will give participants tuition, encouragement and support.

It has been arranged by Cliffe Castle Support Group with backing from Cliffe Castle Museum and Parks Department.

Sessions will be led by Louise Garrett, a qualified community artist and urban sketcher

A spokesman for the organisers said: "Louise's previous sketch walks, staged with the help of Cliffe Castle Support Group, have been very well received.

"Each session stands alone and has a unique theme, featuring different sketching methods and materials.

"It's a great opportunity to explore a variety of fascinating places in Cliffe Castle Museum and its park, and to take home a unique personal record."

"Each of the Friday sessions lasts from 10am to 2pm, and is excellent value at £10, which includes a sketchbook. All that’s needed is a packed lunch as all other materials are provided."

The programme for the series has now been released: March 15 – Sticks and Stones, Feathers and Bones; April 12 – Hunting and Gathering; May 10 – Spring has Sprung; June 7 – A Poem as Lovely as a Tree; July 5 – Neo Gothic Skylines and September 6 – Autumn Colour and Texture.
