UKES, hunks, tribute stars and teenage tearaways appear in a Strictly super reopening season at St George’s Hall.

The Bradford concert hall is offering offer drama, comedy, music and dance following its closure for major refurbishment.

Strictly pros Anton and Erin, who are one of the most popular dance duos in the country, will perform their latest show on March 13.

Dance Those Magical Musicals brings the West End to the dancefloor with the Manchester Concert Orchestra and Strictly singer Lance Ellington.

Stunning costumes and breathtaking choreography are promised for dances set to favourites songs from Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins, 42nd Street, Hairspray, Cabaret, Wicked, Top Hat and Jersey Boys.

Rita, Sue and Bob Two, the hit 1980s play by then 19-year-old Andrea Dunbar, will be performed at St George’s Hall from April 18 to 20.

Teenagers Rita and Sue get a lift home from married Bob after babysitting his kids, but he takes the scenic route and offers them a taste of adult adventure. The three start a fling that each of them think they can control.

A spokesman said: “Told with wicked humour, startling insight and a great ear for dialogue, Andrea Dunbar’s semi-autobiographical play is a vivid portrait of girls caught between brutal childhood and unpromising future.”

George Hinchcliffe’s Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain promise entertainment, joy, fun, strum and artistry as they perform on April 27.

Dr Michael Mosley will be at St George’s Hall on March 8 with his informative and entertaining live show Trust Fast Health.

The man behind the 5:2 Diet plans to explode common health myths and offer fascinating insights into the workings of the human body.

Wet Wet Wet will perform at St George’s Hall on April 28 with members Graeme Clark, Tommy Cunningham, Neil Mitchell and Kevin Simm.

The band, which has sold more than 15 million records, will perform songs from a back catalogue that includes Help From My Friends, Goodnight Girl and Love Is All Around.

The Dreamboys, billed as the UK’s most famous and successful show of its kind, will appear in March 16 with a line-up of ‘incredible hunks’.

The spokesman said: “Their breathtaking spectacular has been perfectly created for hen nights, birthday parties and girls’ nights out.”
