OXFORD-based electronic group Low Island will perform at the Hyde Park Book Club, Leeds, on March 16 while touring to promote new single In Person.
Formed in the early ‘90s, Low Island say they come from a generation that grew as social media took off and Young people became politically conscious.
A spokesman said: “These issues, as well as the trials and triumphs of love and the neuroses that have become synonymous with millennials, are the principal subjects of their lyrics and the themes that run through their music.”
In Person is a further commitment to the electronic side of Low Island’s sound, fusing ‘70s-style analogue recording with the paradox of drifting apart from people as you grow up living in an increasingly connected world.
Multi-instrumentalist and singer Jamie Jay said: “In Person is about sustaining relationships in a digital age. It’s never been easier to feel in constant contact with everyone, when actually you’re slowly drifting apart.
