HUNDREDS of pounds for Manorlands was raised through a fashion show staged by a pair of local weight loss group coaches.

Denise Walker and Alaba Drive lead sessions for WW – previously known as Weight Watchers – at venues in Keighley, Wilsden, Cottingley and Bingley. The pair held a charity fashion show which generated £500.

Denise said: "This was our second fashion show and it was a fantastic way of bringing our members together socially, while raising money for Manorlands.

"Anybody was welcome to come, but most were WW members along with their friends and family.

"Our models have lost an amazing 15 stone between them. It’s so lovely to see how their confidence has grown since losing weight. They were flattered to be asked to model, and they looked amazing!

"It was a great evening enjoyed by all. My own class members taking part were Katie Bambrough, Natalie Hallam, and Rosi Cross."

Alaba said: "My members at the fashion show were Sharon Boulding, who has recently achieved her weight loss goal and Sarah Pinkney, who has lost a huge 54lbs so far.

"Sarah has seen massive health benefits as a result. She had her gall bladder removed and attributes her quick recovery to her weight loss.

"Manorlands is close to my heart as the hospice cared for my mum five years ago. I feel that by raising funds I'm paying back the unmeasurable care and kindness Manorlands showed her in her final weeks."
