AN annual sheep show and sale has given another boost to Manorlands.

A charity auction at the Addingham & District Sheep Breeders’ Association event raised £3,800 for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

Farmers donated 27 lambs and bidding was strong.

Over the years, the event – at Skipton Auction Mart – has now coined-in about £44,000.

Manorlands fundraiser Molly Ralphson said: "We are delighted with how much the latest charity auction raised and would like to thank everyone involved – the organisers, farmers and sponsors.

"We need to find £2.1 million each year to continue the specialist care we offer at the hospice and it is thanks to events such as these in our community that we can."

Organisers also pay tribute to all those who gave their support.

Joe Throup, for Addingham & District Sheep Breeders' Association, said: "Yet again everybody 'raised the baa' beyond all expectations."

Manorlands will also share in a further windfall of £3,500, raised at auctions staged alongside Skipton Auction Mart's annual Christmas primestock shows.
