RUBY WAX will be at the Alhambra Bradford on November 14 with her “outrageously witty and smart” How to be Human: The Show.

The comedian, author and campaigner will be helped by a monk, Gelong Thubten, and a neuroscientist, Ash Ranpura, as she answers questions about evolution, thoughts, emotions and the body.

Ruby is tackling the big subjects she wrote about in her book How To Be Human, as a follow-up to the sell-out UK tour of one-woman show Frazzled.

Other issues to be addressed during the show will include addictions, relationships, sex, kids, the future and compassion.

A spokesman said: “We can’t stop the future from arriving, no matter what drugs we’re on.

“But even if nearly every part of us becomes robotic, mechanical fingers crossed we’ll still have our minds.

“Hopefully we’ll use them for things like compassion, instead of just chasing what’s ‘better’ like a hamster on a wheel. If we can do that, we’re on the yellow brick road to happiness.

“How to be Human is the show you need to help you upgrade your mind as much as you’ve upgraded your iPhone.”

Gelong will explain how the mind works while Ash will explain where in the brain everything that makes us ‘us’.

Ruby Wax is the US-born comedian who turned to psychology, gaining a degree in Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy from Oxford University.

She was awarded an OBE in 2015 for her services to mental health in the UK.
