A KEIGHLEY hair and beauty salon which had to close temporarily after being raided three times in seven weeks is back in business.

Karen Elliott, owner of Revive and Rejuvenate in South Street, is determined to fight on and has had brand new, toughened windows installed at her premises. Her salon was burgled on July 8, August 1 and yet again on September 1.

Following the third incident the business shut for about three weeks, but Mrs Elliott re-opened it on September 19. She said the offences had taken an emotional toll, adding business had been quiet since her salon opened again.

"It's now all about getting the word out and letting more people know that I'm back open," she added.

"I was tempted to walk away and not continue, but I've had a lot of support from family, friends and clients, with people encouraging me not to give up. So I'm going to give it another go. I don't want to give in.

"It has been horrendous. For the first two weeks I was back I was constantly making sure the door was locked. And financially this has cost me a fortune.

"But customers who've come back since I re-opened are happy to see I'm here again. They're glad I'm carrying on.

"I've taken the opportunity to have new windows fitted to make the salon more secure, and to make it look nicer. I still need to get my business's phone number updated on the sign outside. It is now 01535 957944 or 075007 00194."
