A TEENAGER has been locked up for supplying Class B drugs in a Keighley park.
Usman Ali, 18, of Springfield Road, Keighley, was handed a sentence of one year in a young offender’s institute.
He was caught by a plain-clothes police officer in Devonshire Park in February and found with cannabis, a grinder, a mobile phone and £190.
The court heard Ali was “fully compliant” and said £160 of the £190 was from that day’s drug dealing and the rest was from the day before.
He was on licence from a previous offence where he had been part of a drug dealing line which supplied Class A drugs.
In sentencing, His Honour Judge Jonathan Rose said: “You chose, and it was a choice, to involve yourself in selling drugs.
“You, like others, think that selling drugs is easy money.
“Well it’s not easy money and those who sell drugs will find there is a cost and that cost is the loss of their liberty.”
