SUFFRAGETTES were on the march in Wilsden as WI members raised cash for Manorlands.
Wilsden Women’s Institute donned period costumes to commemorate 100 years since women won the vote.
A spokesman said: “They wore outfits reminiscent of those ladies who battled for over 50 years to get Parliament to allow them to have the vote.
“The ladies enjoyed a tea party to mark this auspicious year, and raffled a handmade teddy dressed in the green white and purple of the brave women’s suffrage movement.”
The event raised £63 for the Sue Ryder hospice in Oxenhope.
