SIR - Shopkeeper Mohammed Tayyab has rightly been prosecuted for failing to comply with an enforcement notice relating to unauthorised roller shutters, with the first legal notice issued in late 2010 (T&A, July 5).
Whilst it is good to see a conclusion to the enforcement, it surely begs the question as to why it has taken so long.
Perhaps Bradford Council could explain why this matter was not properly pursued years ago? A period of 14 years is surely totally unacceptable, and perhaps confirms once again how inept our Council actually is.
It will now be interesting to see how long it takes for the shutters and frontage to be suitably corrected.
