SIR - One City Park is now due to open, which on the face of it is good news (T&A, May 17).
The first tenant is an excellent name in Pricewaterhouse Coopers, who are taking two floors of the building. However, their 200 staff are only moving from another central Bradford property so presumably it is simply leaving an empty office block elsewhere.
When this development was first conceived we were told that there was a great need for Grade A office space in the city centre.
Strange therefore that no other blue-chip concerns were queuing to sign up for office space here.
Bradford Council is pleased to have secured an anchor tenant. So was the Broadway Centre when M&S and Debenhams were signed up on that basis. Look what happened there!
Let's hope there's not a repeat of that debacle with One City Park, and that it doesn't end up being filled with disappointing second rate tenants on cheap deals.
