SIR - In response to the views of Helen Mead on school dinners (T&A January 19), I must have been more fortunate!
As a primary school headteacher, when I had my school dinner I shared a table with some children. Never did I give a negative expression as I tasted food and I always left an empty plate.
That was remarkable, considering my dinner ladies always gave me special sized portions. That was great when it came to the Manchester Tart pudding!
