SIR - What an excellent letter from Paul Morley about the Covid inquiry, and how it has lost its way (T&A, November 27).

It was indeed supposed to be all about finding out what worked, what didn't, and understanding what could be done better in the future.

Unfortunately it has descended into farcical tittle tattle and point scoring, making the participants all look rather pathetic.

The only winners appear to be the lawyers who will no doubt ensure that the inquiry is far more costly than it ever needed to be.
