SIR - Peter Bryson, the chairman of the Skipton & East Lancashire Rail Action Partnership, is rightly concerned that the Government's new Network North rail plan makes no mention of the reopening of the Skipton to Colne route (T&A, October 12).
It would be an utter disgrace for that short section of line not to be included in the plan, being one of the easier reinstatements, and give great connections to and from East Lancashire from the north of our region. In doing so it would also take some pressure off the already congested Leeds Station.
The proposed route is massively supported by businesses, politicians of all colours, local groups and individuals, and as such surely needs to be given the green light in the immediate future. Anything less would be another betrayal.
