SIR - Time and time again I find myself jumping out of the way of cyclists abusing not only the rules of the road, but also I have at times been forced to take avoidance measures to prevent cyclists crashing into me on the pavement !
A few years ago a multi-million pound cycle route opened to alleviate the need and the hazards of cyclists riding on pavements. It really is becoming a problem and it’s not children on bikes I am talking about here, it’s adults complete with skid lid and bodycam cameras to boot.
Maybe these budding Chris Boardmans should download a video captured by their cameras and take appropriate action, like for instance ride sensibly and with due care and attention as pavements are for pedestrians and not cyclists speeding around just to cut a few minutes off your cycling commute.
