SIR - In a timely boost to the British rural economy, the UK now exports British lamb to the USA, for the first time since 1989.
The first shipment of lamb left in October, from Welsh farmers in Carmarthenshire. The market is estimated to be worth over £37million and expected to grow over the next five years.
We were told by a certain USA President that the UK would be at the back of the queue for exports.
