SIR - The other day a dozen of us had a day out walking through ancient woodlands, lush meadows, along a beautiful river and canal, enjoying properties of grandeur from a bygone age - we were in Bradford.
Of an age where most have now retired, several left the city many years ago all for the same reasons, vividly played out on Bradford On Duty last week. Those of us who remain shake our heads in despair and embarrassment; some even claim to live “near Leeds”.
The ignorant thuggery that blights our city has grown beyond control, even if the authorities had the guts to tackle this, which I suspect they do not. As described in the episode, parts of our city are lawless.
Those who can will continue to follow the exodus several of our bunch made decades ago.
