Fly-tipping is a menace
SIR - A few months ago I saw on the news that the government had ordered all councils to collect all rubbish and free of charge in an attempt to stop fly tipping.
I phoned our council this week to take some items of mine. I was willing to pay, but the answer was a firm no. I was told to take it myself. I am 85, disabled, housebound and I don't drive so this was no option.
I think our council deserves all the fly-tipping it gets. Capital of Culture - I think not!
