SIR - There have been far too many shambolic actions by Bradford Council in recent years for them to be described as one-offs.

The latest indignity relates to the distressing death of poor little Star Hobson, with the Council agreeing that it did not take the actions it should have (T&A, May 26).

We then again hear the usual apologies, but these are simply neither good enough nor acceptable.

Labour Council leader Susan Hinchcliffe and Chief Executive Kersten England have presided over this and previous issues, but neither appear to feel that the buck stops with them.

Why not? That they both feel able to continue in office, and accept their considerable remuneration, tells us that they are more interested in themselves rather than doing the right thing by resigning.

Quite frankly - it stinks.
