SIR - In view of the current unstable situation exacerbated by the Covid pandemic and the increasing energy and fuel costs, It may reasonably be expected that Bradford Council would abandon or at least delay implementing its Clean Air Zone.
Many businesses in the district are already experiencing a decrease in revenue and the additional costs which would be incurred when travelling to and within the allocated zones in commercial vehicles could prove fatal. Not all businesses are able to upgrade their vehicles despite some grants supposedly being available.
A decision to implement such a policy is consistent with a council lacking all business acumen and led by ideologues rather than pragmatists.
