SIR - An excellent question from Bob Watson (T&A letters, February) asking do we need more city centre flats rather than family homes. Developers with conscience are rare and only want income, regardless of who pays. It is good to see long empty heritage buildings refurbished only then to house taxpayer funded refugees. Accommodation will only succeed with a surrounding infrastructure.
The site quoted near the junction of Listerhills and Thornton Roads should never have been sold by the Council but instead used to provide walking distance parking for the New Odeon. We need bold vision, a plan and common sense!
