SIR - The scourge of dangerous drivers in Bradford is well known, but I am becoming ever more concerned at the weak sentences (often suspended) being handed down by our local judges.
When Bradford's then top Judge, Jonathan Durham Hall QC, promised some years ago that danger drivers would be jailed we all cheered. What has happened since then? No wonder the scourge continues unabated.
Recorder Felicity Davies was the latest to hand out an inadequate suspended sentence (T&A, November 22), sadly following the unacceptable line of various others.
When will we again see custodial sentences being handed down as the norm to reflect what is going on?
Our judges need to look in the mirror and consider what is happening to our once great city, rather than adding to the many problems that we see today.
