Steeton Court Nursing Home is now able to facilitate visiting again for residents thanks to a designated visitor centre which has been specially designed to meet new government guidance. The room has separate entrances and a screen to ensure residents are safe and their families can visit in the knowledge that all precautions for a secure visit have been taken.

Home Manager Belinda Dennis said ‘we truly believe that this new visitor centre will make it easier for residents and their families in these challenging times, residents’ families have been so supportive during the pandemic, but there is no substitute for face to face visiting. The room is deep cleaned after every visit which is arranged by appointment, it has been a ray of sunshine for the residents to be able to see their loved ones again.’

Steeton Court has recently been inspected by CQC and given a good rating in all areas, Ms Dennis said ‘we are delighted with the findings of the report, there is some lovely feedback from the residents and their relatives. This year has been an incredibly hard year for anyone working in care, and the staff who work at Steeton Court have been magnificent. They have always put the well- being of the residents first and it has been a real team effort, to see this reflected in the report is a credit to them’.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Among the first relatives to use the visitor centre was Janine Foster who said ‘visiting Mum through the window has been emotionally difficult for both of us.  I’m absolutely delighted that Steeton Court have created a safe, warm, visiting area where relatives can once again spend quality time with their loved ones.  Regular visits are so important for the health and mental well-being of both residents and families. I would like to thank everyone involved for making visiting possible again during restrictions imposed by Covid-19.

Well done Steeton Court!’
