AN INNER Wheel chairwoman has raised £1,000 for charity by completing 26 consecutive days of sponsored walking.
Pat Mirfield, from Aireborough, was sponsored by fellow members to walk at least 2.6 miles per day, covering a total of 77.3 miles over 29 hours and burning around 7553 calories.
She presented a £1,000 cheque to Smart Works Leeds. Amanda O’Neill, from the charity, accepted the cheque and has agreed to speak at the district’s zoom meeting in November.
Mrs Mirfield said: “Smart Works Leeds Charity mission is to help unemployed women regain the confidence they need to succeed at a job interview, find employment and transform their lives. By providing their clients with quality clothing and interview coaching, they help to change the trajectory of their lives. “Inner Wheel District 4 is very happy to support an organisation helping other women to help themselves.”
