MORE bus services will be available from Wharfedale to Leeds this autumn.
First Bus has announced that it will be increasing the frequency of the X84 service from Sunday, October 4. From that date buses will run between Otley and Leeds every 15 minutes during the day, Monday to Saturday.
The X85 is to become the 85 and will operate between Pool-in-Wharfedale and Leeds every 90 minutes.
Head of External Relations for First Bus - North of England, Brandon Jones, gave details of the changes in an update to local councillors.
Otley and Yeadon Councillors Sandy Lay, Colin Campbell and Ryk Downes welcomed the news. Cllr Lay said: “This will help boost capacity on the route which has been curtailed by COVID-19 restrictions. Ironically it will mean we get a 15 minute service to Leeds - something we have been asking to be provided for some time. We appreciate this is a response to the pandemic but hopefully it can continue when things get back to normal.”
