ILKLEY’S MP has hailed £81,000 of funding to support a local food charity.

The money has been awarded to Rethink Food which is based in Leeds and Bradford and helps residents across the area.

The group is one of 65 charities that have received a share of more than £3.5 million from the Food Charities Grant Fund.

The fund was launched by the Government in May to support people during the pandemic.

Robbie Moore, the Conservative MP for Keighley and Ilkley, said: “This support has played a crucial role in helping the vital work of charities across my constituency that have worked tirelessly and selflessly to help those in need.

“I know I speak for everyone in our community in wanting to thank them for everything they have done, and continue to do, for some of our most vulnerable residents.

“This Conservative government has kept its word to stand behind people during these difficult times.”
