NOT everything in Ilkley is in lockdown.

The table tennis table by the Riverside Hotel has been wiped down by an energetic group of players from Ilkley & District U3A who have set up their own singles games on wind-free dry days with social distancing arrangements.

Bats and balls are available from the Cabin for those friends and families who arrive without any equipment and who just fancy a game at short notice though if it has been raining a cloth might be needed to wipe up moisture first.

As for the tennis wall at Ilkley Lido: “You will need to have your own tennis racquet and balls if you want to use the tennis wall at the Lido,” said Gill Wilkinson, secretary of Ilkley Soroptimists.

“Our Soroptimist Club had both these sporting activities put in place with a grant from a charity and the help of Bradford Council.

“It’s really good to see them being used.”
