YOU have nominated some more of our community heroes whom we are delighted to feature.

Many people and organisations are going above and beyond in helping people, providing vital services and making life better during this difficult time.

And we want to shine a light on them, highlighting the great work they are doing and efforts they are going to.

MAYFIELD CARE HOME

STAFF at Mayfield View Care Home in Ilkley have been going above and beyond.

Manager Katie Capes said: “I’m so grateful to every member of the team at Mayfield View and want to thank every single one of them publicly. Without exception, they have pulled together under extraordinary circumstances and demonstrated every single day that they are willing to go the extra mile for our wonderful residents.

“We are proud to be part of the Springfield family of care homes, which means we have all of the guidance, equipment and support that we need during this difficult time. The feedback we have had from families about the care that their loved ones have been receiving, and how reassured they feel, is heart-warming to read, and this is testament to all that the Mayfield View team are doing.”

THE YEW TREE

"MY local pub - The Yew Tree in Otley - offered Sunday Lunch free of charge to elderly members of our local community, with the option to make a donation to charity if ordering as a gift for friends or family members. I requested one a couple of times for an elderly isolated neighbour. He was absolutely made up with his dinner. I can only assume the pub is dealing with its own uncertainty yet still went above and beyond to bring a smile to many people in our community and deserve recognition for their contribution."
