THE LANGUAGE of flowers is being used to help people remember loved ones during the lockdown.
Good Grief Guiseley is using facebook, @goodgriefguiseley, and twitter, @guiseleygrief, to ask people to talk about the special significance of flowers in remembering.
The group, which was set up at the end of last year, has been unable to hold its monthly cafes at Guiseley Theatre because of the coronavirus pandemic.Organiser Heath Cooper said they had also posted weekly updates of the flowers and plants in Guiseley Cemetery to include those being shielded who are unable to visit the grave of a loved one.
She said:”We’ve been looking at new ways that people can still have conversations and remember our loved ones who have died. One way has been through the language and symbolism of flowers.”
