JET2 is cancelling all flights and holidays up to June 17.

The company had previously cancelled flying until May 1 - but in a statement released this week it extended the operational shutdown.

A spokesperson for Jet2 said: “In view of the ongoing uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we have taken the decision to recommence our flights and holidays programme on June 17.

“This means for customers travelling before this date, unfortunately your flights and holidays will not be operating.

“We will be contacting customers and dealing with all existing queries in departure date order, which we believe is the fairest way to handle this.

“The number of calls we have been receiving is unprecedented so you do not need to make contact with us.

It adds: “Although these are difficult times for everyone, the sun will come out again. When it does, out award-winning teams will be there to take customers on holiday - a well-deserved package holiday they can trust - once again.”
