DOG owners are being urged to help elderly or vulnerable people who are struggling to exercise their pets during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Yeadon man Carlo Harrison said: “Local dog owners tend to bump into the same people often when out walking their canine friends so, if you do have people that you see regularly, and you can see that those owners are elderly maybe you could offer to walk their dogs for them.
“It will get you outdoors for some extra fresh air, you don’t have to be in close contact with others and it may save an elderly owner worrying about exercising their dog if they themselves feel vulnerable outdoors or are not well. Picking up the dog and dropping it back can be done without close contact with the owners with a bit of planning.”
