REFURBISHMENT work has been credited with helping an Otley shopping centre prosper.
Tatton Settled Estates (TSE) has been carrying out an extensive programme of refurbishment and conversion works at Orchard Gate.
The scheme included splitting up larger units to create smaller, ground floor retail spaces with self-contained apartments above.
Following completion of the work the centre has been fully occupied and has also, since September, 2019, attracted a number of new commercial tenants.
Malcolm Stuart Property Consultants LLP were brought in as letting agents for Orchard Gate at the beginning of last year.
Partner James Stuart said: “TSE intend to continue with their investment into Orchard Gate to maintain its status as one of the primary shopping, eating and drinking areas within Otley.
“Orchard Gate continues to buck the trend and demonstrates how retail centres can be successful in a time of continued bad news for the high street.”
Orchard Gate is also home to the Town Council’s offices - Otley Core - and adjoins Otley Bus Station.
