ENERGETIC volunteers from Wharfedale are being sought to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
The British Red Cross in Yorkshire is keen to get local walkers signed up for its big fundraiser this summer.
The trek takes place on Saturday, July 25 and will see participants embarking on a 24.5 mile, circular route that involves reaching the top of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent. The Red Cross provides preparation guidance and support, including expert training tips, along with accommodation details and fundraising ideas.
Each walker pays £15 to take part and has a minimum sponsorship target of £100.
The Red Cross’s Senior Community Fundraiser for Yorkshire, Helen Whale, said: “Nothing quite beats that triumphant feeling when completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks.” To sign up visit www.redcross.org.uk/Y3P or call (0113) 201 5256 / e-mail hwhale@redcross.org.uk.
