STUART Cummings MBE, former Match Officials Director of the Rugby Football League, and former international referee cut the ribbon to officially open the new Verbeia Spa at The Craiglands Hotel, Ilkley.

More than 200 local businesses and residents were invited to the opening.

The facility has been created thanks to a £2million investment and has created 20 new jobs.

The spa features a gym, studio, vitality spa pool, bespoke Mud Rasul chamber and sauna and steam room. Clients can take advantages of aromatherapy treatments.

Membership is available, as well as spa days and treatments. Opening times: 6am to 9.30pm midweek; 7am to 8pm Saturday and Sunday.

The Craiglands Hotel was built in 1859 and was one of the largest and most finely situated purpose-built hydropathic establishments in the country.
